Annieglass Slumped Glassware
Annie Morhouser fell in love with the intricacies of glass when she watched it being blown over 30 years ago. Since then, she has created countless amazing designs in the medium, including two pieces that are featured in the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
The trademark look comes from Annieglass's uniquely developed glass bending technique. A sheet of flat glass is melted over a ceramic mold and fired at temperatures as high as 1350F, so that precious metals (24-karat gold or platinum) become permanently fused to the glass. The result delivers not only a special translucent textured finish but also remarkable durability: the glass is tarnish- and chip-resistant as well as dishwasher safe. The effect created by this method varies from organic shapes reminiscent of ever-changing nature to clean, contemporary lines, as well as classic, rich metallic accents.
Now you can share Annie's love of sparkling, captivating glass in your home with this extensive collection of Annieglass, and we know you will become inspired by it as well.
