The Lampe Berger name dates back to 1898, when French pharmacist Maurice Berger invented a diffusion process to purify the air inside closed rooms in hospitals. The little lamps invented to dispel bad odors by the 1930s had been adapted to scent the air at private homes with pleasurable fragrances. Coco Chanel and Picasso were among the many celebrities to each own a Lampe Berger. Today, we're delighted to be an authorized dealer of Lampe Berger lamps to continue this beautiful tradition of filling one's homes with perfumed air.
Each glass lamp is made in Paris, and includes a wick and stone burner, an openwork diffusion cover and an airtight cap. We have dozens of splendid Lampe Berger lamp designs to add a stylish touch to rooms with classic to contemporary Decor. To use the Lampe Berger fragrance lamp, fill the lamp two-thirds full with Lampe Berger fragrance fuel, and allow the wick to soak for about 20 minutes. Light the stone burner at the top of the lamp, and allow it to burn for 2-3 minutes before blowing it out. The flameless, low-temperature catalytic combustion diffuses the scent of the fuel without burning it.
Since the lamp does not utilize an open flame, it is safer to use than a candle. The vented lid on each Lampe Berger covers the stone, and the metal stopper extinguishes the lamp when placed over it. The lamp will neutralize odors and diffuse the fragrance when diffused for 30 to 45 minutes in each 300 square feet of space.
